You are invited to attend and participate in the "International Conference on Overhead Lines:
Design, Construction, Inspection and Maintenance."
The International Conference has roots back to the late
1950's when Colorado State University held the "Wood Pole
Institute" meetings. Since then, the transfer of
up-to-date technology to those in the electrical utility
field has been the key mission of the conference. In
1989, EDM partnered with CSU to expand the breadth of the
conference and then in 2006 the conference was also
sponsored by EPRI.

CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES

This conference focuses on technologies and resources to support
the leading corporate objectives of electric utility companies
today: reduce operations and maintenance (O&M) costs, increase
power throughput, and improve line reliability. To this end, the
technical papers will also address the related areas of
extending overhead line and component life; reducing design,
refurbishment, and construction costs; and ensuring health and
safety for workers and the environment. This conference also
explores new technology applications that promise attractive
future alternatives for overhead line owners.
-
To provide a forum for professionals to explore the issues
which impact the use of utility line structures throughout
the world.
-
To exchange information on the state-of-the-art in research,
technology, materials, maintenance, manufacturing/design
processes, marketing, management and economic
developments.
-
To showcase products and technologies through the commercial
exhibition.
Who should attend:
Utility executives, managers and engineers with
responsibility for transmission, distribution and substation
design, construction, operations and maintenance are
invited.
