Overhead Line Management & Inspection Workshop

For more than 18 years, EDM has held workshops geared toward current issues related to overhead line inspection, maintenance and management.  The workshop is for utility personnel only attendees will be presented with approaches to line inspection, assessment, and restoration including: 

  • facilities mapping

  • raptor protection

  • joint use

  • asset management

  • corrosion detection

  • methods for quantifying and tracking component conditions, and

  • wood pole treatments. 

A utility perspective regarding maintenance practices and planning is included in the program. The Workshop will address transmission line design, including specification requirements. A full-scale destructive test of utility line components will be conducted and an in-field demonstration of inspection tools and methodologies will be presented.  The Rocky Mountain Raptor Program will bring several large raptors on site and that will coordinate with presentations regarding raptor electrocution prevention.
